Bethenny Frankel is officially divorced from Jason Hoppy, but she’s not done fighting over things she learned about during their proceedings. During their filings, Bethenny discovered a major issue with her Trust. So, she initiated a lawsuit with her former lawyer, Jamie Schreck. However, Jamie recently claimed that this Real Housewives of New York alum has since “abandoned” her lawsuit. On this, Bethenny’s team is calling foul.

Bethenny and Jason separated in 2012. She filed for divorce in 2013, but couldn’t finalize anything until 2021, thanks to their contentious litigation. One of these hurdles involved a real estate acquisition that Bethenny alone made. And for this asset, she hired Jamie.
In 2011, Bethenny purchased a 3-bedroom, 3-bathroom, 3,751-square-foot unit in New York City for a cool $4.95 million. After, Jamie apparently failed to consult with Bethenny when it came time to draft her trust. So, Jamie allegedly penned a trust that gave her ex, Jason, 50% interest in this home. Cue Bethenny and Jason, “heavily litigating” the ownership of this purchase during their divorce proceedings.
So, in 2017, Bethenny sued Jamie for malpractice. In her lawsuit, Bethenny demanded $2 million in damages, since Jamie improperly drafted documents related to her trust. But then, Bethenny apparently dropped the ball. According to new filings obtained by TMZ, Jamie’s now calling Bethenny out for supposedly dragging her feet on this old suit.

Apparently, Jamie has been trying to depose Bethenny “for nearly four years,” yet, nothing is happening. Furthermore, Jamie offered Bethenny a chance to settle her case for a much smaller figure of $25k, but Bethenny isn’t engaging. Instead, she’s “abandoned” this case altogether, Jamie claimed.
But shortly after Jamie made these claims, Bethenny and her team entered the chat. They disputed his statements. They also noted that Bethenny is actively engaging with this case.
The Real Housewives of New York is streaming on Peacock.
