Brooke Baldwin is standing up to Megyn Kelly, alleging the former Fox News host spread false information about Baldwin's sex life
The former CNN anchor, 47, wrote in the July 26 edition of her Unraveling, with Brooke Baldwin Substack that Kelly, 55, "got the story completely wrong" in offering commentary that incorrectly characterized Baldwin as having sex with four men in a month. Kelly spoke about the matter on the July 21 episode of "The Megyn Kelly Show," whose original YouTube video is now private.
Kelly's remarks are not included in the version of the episode that is now public. The episode's original title, Baldwin said, was "'Therapized' Former CNN Host Brooke Baldwin Says She Slept with Four Guys Last Month." She wrote that it was later changed to "Former CNN Host Brooke Baldwin is Oversharing About Her Sex Life," but the title no longer references Baldwin.
Kelly was referencing a July 19 Substack post, titled "CASUAL SEX. Let's discuss.🔥🔥🔥," in which Baldwin opened up about re-downloading a dating app for five days and having" had the opportunity to sleep with four different men" over the past month. She clarified later in the post, in a portion that was behind a paywall, that she "turned them all down."
"My last Substack was not about me having casual sex. It was about me choosing not to," Baldwin wrote in her July 26 post denouncing Kelly's commentary. "It was about heartbreak. Discipline. Discernment. Protecting my energy while I build something bigger than myself. And yet, for nearly nine minutes, Megyn framed an entire discussion around a false account of my sex life and my bodily choices, alongside three men who cackled, laughed, and berated me."
"No one from the show contacted me for comment," Baldwin alleged. "They did not seem to care that the premise of the segment was not at all factual before broadcasting it to an enormous audience.
She expressed concern about how Kelly's comments reflect broader journalistic integrity, writing, "Integrity requires honesty, accuracy, and the humility to correct the record when the facts demand it. Without that, there is no trust."
USA TODAY has reached out to Kelly's team for comment.
In a subsequent July 23 episode, Kelly mocked Baldwin's "casual sex" newsletter, saying, "This is getting more pathetic by the day."

"As it turns out, we should have paid to read the rest of her stupid Substack, which we didn't," Kelly said. "In the paid piece of the article, she confessed she actually did not have casual sex with these men. It's all just a teaser to get you to pay to listen to her lame recitations of her life."
What Brooke Baldwin said about casual sex
In a July 25 Instagram post, Baldwin wrote that her lawyer "has contacted [Kelly] directly to demand that she take down those videos."
As the majority of her original July 19 newsletter is behind a paywall, she included the text in its entirety in her social media post.
"If you’ve been reading me for a while, you know I signed up for my very first dating app a few months ago and lasted approximately three minutes before deleting it," she wrote. "Very recently, I gave it another shot. Why? Maybe I wanted a distraction. Maybe I like to kiss. Maybe I’m a grown-ass woman who can do whatever the hell she wants. This time I made it… five whole days."
After revealing she had been propositioned by four men, she wrote, "Bottom line? I am flattered. Hang on. Am I??? That’s so old-school-Brooke-I-just-want-to-be-Chosen talking. No. I’m not flattered. I’m… unsurprised. There. There’s the truth."
In the next part of the post, which is behind a paywall, Baldwin continued, "What did I do? Turned them all down. Every. Single. One.”
"It could be empowering. It would almost certainly be pleasurable," she added. "I also am in a hard-fought, hard-earned position where I don't need a man to take care of me financially. I don't need someone to rescue me from loneliness, either. I'm blessed with extraordinary friendships. I am girlfriend-rich. And I genuinely love my own company. My life already feels full."
She hasn't been single since 2015, Baldwin said, adding that she'd discovered a decade ago that "If you can't tickle my brain, you just can't tickle… anything else." She is "not looking for a serious relationship right now" due to a relationship that ended earlier this year.
"Six months ago, I thought I was going to marry someone this year (and I was excited about it). Heartbreak has its own timeline," she wrote. "In this particular season of my life, I care too much about what I’m building to let my energy scatter in a dozen directions."
