Turner asked that reporters not call out to her by her first name and refer to her as "Miss Turner" instead

Kathleen Turner is letting people know how she wants to be addressed at events.
Reporters shouted her first name as the actress, 71, made a rare appearance at the Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man premiere in New York on March 10. The actress, who used a cane to get to her seat, settled in as attendees took her photo.
As flashes went off, a video shows Turner getting the attention of the crowd of journalists, then saying, "You know what I really like, at this age? Miss Turner."
The group obliged and began saying "Miss Turner" when calling out to her. She pointed at one photographer who did so, offering a wink in response.

Fan were delighted to see Turner, who last made a public appearance at the New York City premiere of The Roses, a remake of the 1989 film The War of the Roses, in which she starred. Turner played Barbara Rose in the original film, which followed the breakdown of a wealthy Washington D.C. couple's marriage, opposite Michael Douglas as husband Oliver Rose. Danny DeVito plays Oliver's divorce lawyer in the dark comedy film.
Throughout the 1980s, Turner had a series of hits with Douglas, including Romancing the Stone, Jewel of the Nile and more. In 2021, Turner opened up to PEOPLE exclusively about her chemistry with Douglas in that film.

"Oh, I was yearning, babe, but he was still married [to first wife Diandra Luker] ... although they were separated, and so I thought there was hope for me," she admitted.
"It was that wonderful sexual tension, you know?" she continued. "When you really, really know you want somebody — and I'm saying it went both ways — and you can't have them. It's just lovely."

PEOPLE caught up with Turner and Douglas in 2021, as they reunited for The Kominsky Method, with Douglas celebrating how the two "know each other so well."
"You protect and cherish when you've got a good relationship," the Oscar winner told PEOPLE, sharing that working with Turner again was "so much fun."
"It just is a comfort factor. Then you get to see it on screen and [realize], 'Oh, this is really good,' " he said.
"It was a no-brainer," Turner said of the decision. "They say it's like slipping on an old shoe, which I assume means that it's one of your favorite things. And that's how it feels."
