Lorna Luft is pulling out an archival wardrobe piece from Grease 2 for her latest red carpet appearance.
As Luft, 73, stepped out at this year's TCM Classic Film Festival for a showing of Barefoot in the Park, she revealed to PEOPLE that she was wearing her original Pink Ladies jacket from the 1982 Grease sequel film.
"It's been in storage for a very long time and I thought to myself, 'You know something, a lot of people dress up as one of the Pink Ladies. I am one of the Pink Ladies,'" she shares.

According to Luft, however, her iconic pink jacket "sort of went missing for a while," and she isn't sure if her cast mates, including Michelle Pfeiffer, still have theirs.
"I was doing Irving Berlin's White Christmas and the stage manager came back and said, 'Somebody's got something for you,'" she recalls, recounting the moment the jacket came back into her possession.
Luft was then stunned when she received the very same jacket she had famously worn all those years before.
"And [the woman] said, 'I've had this and I bought it at one of the Paramount auctions,'" she remembers. "And she said, 'It should go home.' And that's how I got my jacket back."
"The same week, Olivia [Newton-John] got her black leather jacket," Luft reveals. "So it was a lot for all of us."

Grease 2 was highlighted at the 2026 festival for its evolution from a box-office flop to a beloved musical romantic comedy.
"I'm honored and thrilled that TCM is realizing how many people love Grease 2, and I'm just grateful that it has the audience and it will continue on because I think that opening number in this movie is one of the great musical numbers of all," the grandmother of four says.

Luft, the daughter of Judy Garland and Sidney Luft, took on the part of Pink Lady Paulette in the sequel to Grease alongside Pfeiffer, Maxwell Caulfield, Pamela Adlon, Didi Conn and more — including some Hollywood icons that she said the cast was "lucky" to have on set.
"Tab Hunter was one of the nicest people, and I was talking to Maxwell [Caulfield] when we got there about how lucky we all were to have Eve Arden and Dody Goodman and Tab Hunter and Sid Caesar and all of those people and how we used to sit on the set," Luft shares.

"Those were the people that were such a huge part of this industry," she adds. "And I used to sit with Eve [Arden, who starred as Principal McGee in both the original film and the sequel] on the set and I would say, 'Mildred Pierce, spill it.' And she'd say, 'Okay.' And she'd tell me everything. She was great."
Grease 2 also included Adrian Zmed, Christopher McDonald, Luft, Hunter and Conn reprising their roles from the first film.
Grease eventually got one more spin-off story: 2023's Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, which aired for one season on Paramount+.
