Patrick J. Adams told PEOPLE what the keys are to his nearly 10-year marriage to Troian Bellisario
The couple hosted a California wedding in December 2016 with their Suits and Pretty Little Liars and Suits castmates in attendance
They share three kids: Aurora, 7, Elliot, 4, and a newborn baby
Patrick J. Adams is sharing what has worked for him and his wife, Troian Bellisario, during their nearly 10-year marriage.
Speaking with PEOPLE in an exclusive interview at the premiere of his new TV series, The Madison, in New York City on March 9, the 44-year-old actor revealed the secrets to his relationship with the Pretty Little Liars alum, 40.
"Oh, listening to each other, taking care of each other, putting the other person before what you need," the Suits alum said.
Adams continued, "I don't know. I definitely am not here to give relationship advice because we make a lot of mistakes along the way, but a lot of patience, a lot of love, a lot of laughter.”

Adams and Bellisario got engaged in 2014 and tied the knot during a ceremony in California in 2016. The wedding weekend included guests staying in camping tents and a candlelight venue surrounded by trees.
She wore a white gown from Cortana, a headpiece by Amaroq and a veil, while Adams wore a navy blue three-piece Ralph Lauren suit.
Their wedding guest list featured Bellisario's Pretty Little Liars castmates Lucy Hale, Ashley Benson, Sasha Pieterse, Keegan Allen and Ian Harding, as well as Adams' Suits costar Sarah Rafferty.

The couple have since welcomed three children: Aurora, 7, Elliot, 4 and a newborn baby. After announcing her third pregnancy news in November 2025, Adams shared on Instagram in January 2026 that they had welcomed the baby. He posted a photo of himself with the new child’s hand, and captioned it "Tag, you're it."
Adams also wrote a sweet post when the couple were expecting the baby. "We don’t know your name yet," Adams said. "What we do know is that we have an infinite supply of love waiting for you. Love, laughter, tears, dance parties, lullabies, and lessons."
"We’ll show you some stuff, but you will teach us everything else," he added. "We don’t know much, but we know there is nothing we want to be more than your parents."

In his latest TV project, Taylor Sheridan’s The Madison, Adams is starring alongside Michelle Pfeiffer, Elle Chapman, Kurt Russell, Beau Garrett and Matthew Fox.
The first three episodes of The Madison premiered on Paramount+ on March 14 and the remaining three episodes will be released on March 21.
