Indie rock band Life Without Buildings is making a major comeback.

The Scottish band, which was active for three years until their 2002 breakup, will be performing together again on November 20, 2026, as reported by Pitchfork. According to the publication, the band, which consists of Robert Dallas Gray, Sue Tompkins, Will Bradley, and Chris Evans, is having its long-awaited reunion, inside London's KOKO concert venue, to honor the London record store, Rough Trade, turning 50.

Gray opened up about the big news in a January 13 BlueSky post, writing, "cat's oot the bag then!"

He also made clarifying comments about the band's reunion.

"I don't think we agreed to one-off or performing the whole album [Any Other City from 2001] but yes there will be shows," wrote the guitarist on BlueSky.

When a fan inquired, "any likelihood of a Scottish/Glasgow show?," he replied, "yes I would say so! but nothing booked right now."

Life Without Buildings Fans Expressed Their Excitement About the Upcoming Show

Several fans of Life Without Buildings expressed their excitement about the show in Gray's BlueSky post's comments section.

"Oh this is a beautifully welcome surprise Robert! Hope we get NA shows too, the world needs your band’s uniqueness," wrote a commenter.

"Robert, this is what we have been asking for. Cannot wait. Where do I exchange my soul for a ticket please??? See you in Nov!" added another.

"Wahey! Nice one," shared another.

"oh ya beauty!" commented a fan.

"appreciate some good news on this bleak time line," added a commenter.

Another BlueSky user wrote, "Unbelievably good news in ever more desperate times," before asking, "Will tickets be on-sale through the RoughTrade website?"

"not quite sure but probably best place to check!" replied Gray.

The Band Shared How They Came to Be in a 2000 Interview

Pitchfork reported that Gray, Bradley, and Evans started the band, which was originally just instrumental, while studying at the Glasgow School of Art. After Tompkins became the band's vocalist, they recorded their only studio album, Any Other City.

In a 2000 interview at XFM Radio Station, the band shared how they came together. According to Gray, Tompkin's presence positively impacted Life Without Buildings.

"Me, Chris, and Will started playing together about 18 months ago, and we were rubbish and we realized we needed something else, and Sue was kind of doing some kind of written performance kind of stuff," said Gray during the 2000 interview. "We had the sense that it might be interesting to get Sue and immediately kind of seemed to click after that."
