Teyonah Parris just broke her silence on Monica Rambeau‘s MCU future, and fans aren’t sure how to feel. The actress addressed the character’s trajectory at SDCC 2026 while rumors continue to swirl about a potential Avengers: Doomsday appearance.

Teyonah Parris addresses Monica Rambeau’s future in the MCU

Teyonah Parris spoke with Deadline about Monica Rambeau’s MCU future at San Diego Comic-Con 2026. “I miss Monica, as much as you guys do,” Parris said. She added, “I wish her well, and I’m excited to see what they do next.”

Parris first portrayed Monica Rambeau in the 2021 Disney+ series WandaVision. She reprised the role in the 2023 film The Marvels. The character gained electromagnetic powers after crossing through the Hex barrier multiple times. Her abilities include energy absorption, flight, intangibility, and electromagnetic blasts.

The Marvels ended with Rambeau stranded in an alternate universe after closing a rift in space-time. She woke up inside the X-Mansion alongside Kelsey Grammer’s Beast and a variant of her mother called Binary. Grammer returns as Beast in Avengers: Doomsday alongside Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, and other X-Men cast members. This shared universe connection fuels speculation that Monica’s storyline continues directly in the upcoming crossover.

Marvel insider Alex Perez reported that Rambeau appears in Doomsday with her plotline picking up around the second act. He described her as the “key to brokering peace between the X-Men and the Avengers.” Perez also suggested that Doomsday’s main incursion revolves around Earth-616 and the X-Men’s universe where Monica currently resides.

He separately stated that Captain Marvel has been studying the Quantum Bands to bring Monica back to the Sacred Timeline. However, doing so could reportedly trigger an incursion and doom the universe. Some conflicting reports claimed Monica dies off-screen, but other insiders pushed back on that claim. They insisted Parris had filmed scenes and her role could be larger than expected.

Fan reactions to Parris’ SDCC comments reflected mixed emotions about the character’s trajectory. Neither Marvel Studios nor Parris has officially confirmed her involvement in Doomsday or its sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars. The films will release on December 18, 2026, and December 17, 2027, respectively.
