Vanessa Williams is reveling in the impact of science these days.
The Ugly Betty alum opened up about life in her 60s in a new interview with Hello!, offering a candid glimpse at the "amazing" innovations that help her look and feel her best, from an upgraded version of the viral "vampire facial" to giving the GLP-1 craze a chance.
"My fifties were hard," she explained to the publication. "I started perimenopause in my late forties but suddenly, at 51, it’s crazy how your body changes." Things felt "out of control" as she continued to work out and eat the same as always, while her "body [was] not reacting the way it used to."

For the last two years, she's been using tirzepatide, otherwise known as Mounjaro—a similar drug to the ever-popular Ozempic.
“It’s a game‑changer,” Williams said. “When I turned 60, I was like: ‘I want to be here for a long time, and I want to look my best. So what am I going to do?'"
She's also recently started trying out a facial treament called P5, which utilizes polynucleotides, hyaluronic acid and an version of the "vampire facial", which is a form of microneedling that involves drawing your own blood from your arm, separating the plasma from the red blood cells, and applying the plasma-rich platelets, or PRP, back into your skin.

After three facials, Williams said she can "definitely see a difference."
Williams has also invested her time in a Ziip device, a handheld facial tool that is controlled by an app and uses varied electrical currents that can reportedly help with lifting, tightening, and brightening. She said make-up artist Melanie Simon, whom she worked with on Desperate Housewives, created it and sent it to her some 15 years ago.
Finally, Williams is on HRT, or hormone replacement therapy, and has tried out NAD+ injections, too, which are thought to contribute to enhanced energy, cognitive function, and cellular repair.
"Science is amazing," she celebrated. "I'm like: 'What's next? Bring it on!'"
For now, she's bringing down the house nightly at London's West End's Dominion Theatre, where she stars as Miranda Priestly in the Devil Wears Prada musical.
