Valerie Bertinelli said she's “all in” for a reboot of Hot in Cleveland to "honor" late costar Betty White

“We have to figure out something to do to honor her, to honor the show that people love so much,” she told PEOPLE at an event for her Lifetime movie Love, Again

The TV Land sitcom, also starring Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick, aired from 2010 to 2015

It's been over a decade since the last episode of Hot in Cleveland aired, and Valerie Bertinelli is ready to do a reboot.

At the FYC screening and panel for her Lifetime Original Movie Love, Again in Los Angeles on Thursday, April 30, the actress said she has spoken to executive producer Todd Milliner about bringing the Cleveland women back together.

“I know that, God bless, the gorgeous Betty White isn't with us any longer, but we have to figure out something to do to honor her, to honor the show that people love so much,” Bertinelli, 66, says. “So many people are watching it right now, so I want to do a reboot. I'm all in for a reboot.”

“Let's just have everybody come back,” she says.

The TV Land sitcom, which aired from 2010 to 2015, followed three best friends — Bertinelli, Jane Leeves and Wendie Malick — from Los Angeles as they navigate life in Cleveland after their plane to Paris makes an emergency landing. They decide to live under the same roof in their new city and befriend the quick-witted caretaker of their home, played by Betty White.

While on The Drew Barrymore Show in September, Bertinelli said the show was “hands down my favorite experience in my working life,” adding, “To work with those three women that I got to work with — and there was not a diva on the set.”

“We'd hang out in the morning and just talk before rehearsing,” she recalled.

In a clip of The Drew Barrymore Show shared in August, Bertinelli revealed that the best piece of advice she's ever received from one of her costars came from White, who died at age 99 in December 2021, less than a month before what would have been her 100th birthday.

“She was grateful for the good, the bad, the ugly, all of it,” she continued. “And I have learned through going through really challenging things of the past five years, I'm grateful for the hard stuff. It's sucked, and I wish I didn't have to go through it, but there was no other way for me to learn a better way. And I think mistakes are there purposefully to help us learn what not to do.”

Bertinelli concluded, “So, gratitude for sure. Every moment, I'm grateful for. Even the hard stuff. Especially the hard stuff. That's Betty White."

Love, Again premieres on Lifetime on May 9, at 8 p.m. ET.
